1. Stardust was awesome. Really, really awesome! I was literally crying tears of joy by the end of the film and it was a while before I could wipe the grin off my face. I love Neil Gaiman so much, and they did a great job of adapting his beautiful graphic novel (gorgeously illustrated by Charles Vess) to film. Speaking of Neil Gaiman, he got to hugRead more... )

I love making paper cranes! I make them out of anything, too, like candy wrappers and such. =)

Aww, I think it's wonderful to make cranes out of whatever is lying around! I think it's neat to imagine how the stray papers the litter our lives can become these magical creatures. :)

And I cannot resist using this Jin icon whenever you use yours. That t-shirt always cracks me up!

One day I'd like to make a thousand paper cranes and wish for something. It's...I don't know. It seems very magical, to steal your words. =p

Haha, the Rolling Stones? Him and Kame have it everywhere!

Thank you! I'm particularly fond of red, so when I bought my origami papers, I bought a pack that contained a lot of red-patterned paper.

And wow, your icon is gorgeous! I love the clarity and coloring, and I've never seen that cropping before for that scene. I still swoon for Kaneshiro with long hair and a blindfold...

Yay for you on the cranes! :) I cannot make them for the life of me; I fail origami, even when someone teaches me. ;P I applaud you! *claps*

Eeee, thank you, dear! It felt like quite an accomplishment, I must say. My next goal is to make the much-more-difficult fan-tail crane. WIsh me luck! *grin*

congratulations on folding your first cranes! i love the arrangement you made of the white and red ones together, and the dramatic lighting! ♥ i used to fold them so much that i think my brain goes on autopilot whenever i try and do origami, because i was distracted once while i was supposed to be folding something else, and i looked down to see a crane instead~ lol ^-^;;

i want to see stardust now too, and i'm so glad you liked the movie!

That's so funny how your fingers just automatically make cranes - it really proves that we do have this kind of muscle memory that's reinforced by repetition. I'm pleased that I've now learned the method so I no longer need to see the directions, and I'd like to try the fan-tail crane next, which looks much harder.

Yes, go see Stardust! And if you haven't read the graphic novel, that is well worth the time as well. :)

And I know that this is horribly late, so please forgive me, but I wanted to wish you a happy birthday. *hugs*

i've never heard of a fan-tailed crane, so i'd love to see the results when you do master folding it!

thank you for the lovely birthday wishes! *huggles back* i am so very lucky to have such a thoughtful and wonderful friend like you! ♥ ♥ ♥

i've only recently started reading for pleasure again, for the first time in many years, so i truly appreciate the stardust recommendation! will definitely be looking for it the next time i'm at the library~ :D

i've only recently started reading for pleasure again, for the first time in many years,

I remember what that felt like! When I graduated from uni, I spent the summer that followed in a mad frenzy during which I read all the fantasy and science fiction books I'd had to stockpile for years. It was a total orgy of self-indulgent reading and it felt so good! Happy reading to you! :D

*hugs you more*
