I've been absent for a while on a mental non-holiday, which always means that things pile up when I come limping back. A lot has happened this week. This entry is only going to touch on a very few things.
oo1. As some of you have probably (hopefully) heard by now,

And yet, I honestly don't think that any other service will do a better job or ultimately be more permissive (unless the servers were truly fan-run/owned). Which is a sad prospect, considering.

Me, too. As long as you guys are still here, and I'm still engaged in being here and doing my thing: I'm not going anywhere.

And yes, there's an upheaval in fandom, and I honestly don't blame those who want to leave - LJ/Six Apart is being colossally stupid, but I don't think anyone else is going to be LESS stupid, so here I'll stay.
Well, I'm certainly not going anywhere for the time being, so I'm afraid you're stuck with me, dear! ;)
Best news EVER! :D

And about LJ, how big is the fandom migration? I know some people have left, but most people close to me are too attached to leave, so. LJ is like home to me though, so many wonderful people are on it.

Well, don't feel too bad: the story of Jena, LA has barely been reported in any major media outlet.

I really have no idea. Of the polls I've seen, the percentage of people who are definitely leaving, or who have already left, is relatively small. And I don't blame them for wanting to leave when LJ/Six Apart has done such a poor job at providing answers to legitimate concerns.

Which is why I'm not going anywhere. And unless there is something objectionable in my fanfic, I don't produce controversial content (at least I don't think I do), so I should be "safe." If that changes, then I now know that fandom is working on options outside of LJ.

I will have to check the links again but you had mentioned there was something we could do. What was it you were mentioning?
If you click on the words "yes, you can help" they take you to the NAACP who has a list of things you can do including a form letter than you can send to your congressperson.
