First, I FLAIL at you for starting Long Love Letter!! YAY! Someone who gets it! *giggle* Isn't is just so different and fabulous because of it?! *claps* I really think it is one of my all-time favorite Japanese dramas because it's so unconventional and does a great job at being so while still giving you the things that a normal drama would. :D

Oh and it's seishun not seishin; the latter is the name of Taguchi's solo from the "Real Face" tour. *giggle*

Third, out of curiousity, why can't you be more passionate about NewS? Things can change. *smile*

Ah, I agree with your third point! NEWS is awesome ,and resistance against them is futile. ♥

So true! For awhile last year, I was in denial about enjoying NewS and then I ended up ramdomly buying "Touch" when I was shopping with a friend and it was like, "What am I doing denying this?! It's impossible!" *laughs*

xD; Yeah, I got into KAT-TUN August last year, and then I heard about Yamapi and NEWS and stuff like that, and I watched Nobuta wo Produce, and I listened to NEWS' music, but I still kept telling myself that I didn't really like NEWS.

And then I stopped denying that after I watched the TEPPEN PV with them playing the water. >_____> Gyah, why do you kill me with hot and cute, NEWS. ♥

Hmm... I might consider watching Long Love Letter. I have quite a few things on my 'to watch' list already, and I wonder if I'll ever actually get around to watching anything on that list. I'm too lazy. D;

The Hoshi wo Mezashite PV is really awesome! =Dv I've watched it like, a dozen times now. Every single member of NEWS like, glitters in that PV and they all look so cute and squishable. ♥

*smile* Please don't think that I'm pimping LLL! I love it so far, but I've decided not to make recommendations anymore because my taste is my own and not everyone shares it. If you decide to watch it, and you like, I'd love to know what you think, but don't go out of your way if there are other things you want to watch more. I would be sad if you hated it!

nihongofrancais knows my taste is very diverse and she usually pegs the kinds of things I might like, hence she is able to make reccs that are suited for me. *grin*

I agree, the PV is very shiny. :) And also very cheerful and smile-inducing. Thank goodness for the pretty - it definitely cheered my morning up. :)

Breach looked really good just in the trailers, although given how bad I've gotten about seeing movies in the theater, I doubt I'll see it 'til it hits cable/DVD. Chris Cooper never gives a bad performance, though. He can play anything and make me believe it. You've probably already seen Lone Star, but if you haven't, rent it right away. It's fabulous, and he's fabulous in it. (It's also got the best performance I've ever seen from Matthew McConnaghey.)

I agree - Chris Cooper is always wonderful. Nic loves him to pieces! I haven't see Lone Star, but I will make an effort to see it on your recc.

I think you'll like Breach - it really lets the two actors go at it in mostly one-on-one scenes, and I love the intimacy that affords us as viewers, yet it never feels stagey.

i think one of the reasons i loved Orange Days was because... of the kind of friendship the characters have. Eriko Kitagawa is great with that - with relationships and heartwarming moments. and i probably was in a period that i really missed my friends (given my friends and i are all scattered apart, most of them back home and some in other countries), and i was also in a transition period of sorts... and i really thought that Kuo and Satoshi have great chemistry together - and i agree that Kuo's Sae is very, very passionate, and the way she signs shows that. :)

i'm glad you took the time though. :D

I'm really glad I took the time, too! It was very moving, touching, and also funny in places. I agree - Kitagawa, from the four of her dramas I've now seen, does a good job with building relationships between people, and also she's very good with describing how people pull themselves up from difficult situations, and also how people find direction from a sense of being lost in the world. (incidentally, the four I've seen are Long Vacation, Beautiful Life, Orange Days & Tatta Hitotsu no Koi) I'm definitely glad I saw it, particularly because of the kind of message it has, and what it says about the people who like it.

I agree - Sae and Kai were awesome together - he was the only person who could be strong enough for her and I really felt for both characters throughout the drama. The actors did indeed have terrific chemistry. I really like the actress - between Good Luck! and Orange Days I see that she plays tough characters who may not be likeable to everyone, but I very much like both Sae and Ogawa and I felt like I understood where ( ... )

yes, thats exactly why i like Kitagawa's works (and i've seen the doramas u have too) - she makes one feel very warm and fuzzy but not in an overly dramatic sappy way. ;) not that sappy is bad, but Kitagawa has a way with making her writing and characters just blend well and one cannot help but feel and be emo about it too! *lol*

Sae and Kai are really great together. i wasn't surprised at all when i read they were dating in real life.

but i also like Shohei and Akane in OD. just because Shohei is a sweet guy, yet he doesn't really show it that much. i love the way he is protective of his younger sister, and its like he was surprised that Akane found that side of him, like he was still trying to keep cool even... ;)

Me, too! Keita was such a sweet "nice guy" but I loved watching Shohei develop, and I loved Akane as a character. The tension between Shohei and Akane was very nice and I like the layers that we saw revealed in Shohei as he went along, and that he really hid himself away behind his showy front. His clothes still make me giggle a little, because on anyone less playboyish, they would have been awfully girly.

See, I never understand why others are so hard on jdorama heroines, because most of the time I love them, even if I don't start out loving them. Both Sae and Akane were fab here.

It's been a while since I have seen this episode of Torchwood, so my memory isn't all that fresh. I remember, that I thought it would have been a good two-parter, so I agree with you on the rushed feeling. I wasn't impressed by the episode at first, but the ending totally turned everything around for me. Looking back on it, I think I loved it after all. Gwen breaking down because of Rhys broke my heart, I cried so much. And as I said before, the ending was just awesome. Jack coming back and then the sound of the Tardis!
Oh, I remember what bothered me: the "big bad" - the monster, I don't recall exactly what it was - was only a there for a split-second. I would have liked to feel the fear of it more, so I really think it should have been a two-parter.

I still like Veronica Mars, but my excitement for the show is gone. I miss it. The big mysteries don't touch me anymore like they did in S1 and S2. But as you said, it's still entertaining and I certainly will not stop watching.

I completely agree with both points. Eva did such a great job portraying Gwen's grief both for Rhys and for Jack. And I jumped with glee at the sound of the TARDIS!

I wholeheartedly agree. :)

I'm with you 100% on this, too. It's too bad, but it's still entertaining enough that I will keep watching, especially since it's practically the only U.S. television I'm still watching anymore. I can't wait to get caught up on Supernatural, though, or to start on Heroes but *cries* I have no time! Waaah!

The right kind of doctor has arrived! :D I am so curious to see how they will continue the story. Do you have any idea when we will get to see new episodes of Doctor Who/Torchwood?

I love Supernatural to pieces and despite of what everyone thinks, it's not only because of the actors *lol* Some people say it has lost its drive, but I don't think so. There are always episodes that are very good and some that are not, but that's how it is with every tv show. Except for Firefly, there were no bad episodes of Firefly. Nope ;) Oh and btw, Ben Edlund is on the Supernatural team now :D

Heroes is a show I watch, but I do not obsess over it. I mostly watch it in blocks of two or three episodes. If it wasn't for Hiro (a Japanese character) I don't know if I would keep watching.

You know what? You should TOTALLY watch Bones and give it a real chance, which means, that you should watch at least the first 9 episodes. Yep yep. And if you do not love it by then, there must be something wrong with ( ... )
