1. Note to self: DO NOT become distracted while cooking gyoza. I burned my shrimp gyoza last night. I've NEVER done that before! I rarely burn anything, ever. *cries*
2. The new Muse album, Black Holes & Revelations is very, very good. My favorite tracks are "Map of the Problematique" and "Supermassive Black Hole," after 2 and a half listens. Lots

And I know exactly what you mean about wanting - nay, needing - to just escape with a good friend and be unproductive for awhile. Busy is good, but without those moments of recharge it can be more taxing than it's worth. ;) Hope you find an out soon!

THEY'RE SO SHINY!!! I'm in love. I also love "City of Delusion" andn "Exo-Politics." But OMG, I can't stop listening to Map. It's killing me. You know that feeling of musically-induced delirium? That's me right now. :D
Glad I can share my glee. *hugs*

Oh, I'm so happy you picked up Absolution too. And I totally know what you mean about those lovely instances of sanity-deprived musical delirium. What a wonderful feeling 'tis! If a bit incapacitating at times. ;)

I do love the new album, though. It has some really great songs on it, and I listened to it yesterday in the car with my friend and even he really liked it. Map of Problematique just rocks my world! :D

There are grand moments juxtaposed with fury - “Stockholm Syndrome” has a chorus with swirling piano and an eye of the hurricane peacefulness, while the verses leading up to and out of these choruses are driven by thundering tom-toms, distorted guitar and urging vocals. “Sing for Absolution” captures one of the best vocal performances of the disc with its intensity and power. The comparison that many reviews draw is that they are Radiohead knock-offs. Arguably you can draw parallels to early Radiohead, but frankly I think this disc is even better than what I’ve heard from Radiohead’s catalog. This is another ( ... )

Don't worry, I knew and remembered your recommendation, and if you recall, you did give me a song or two, and I loved them, so it wasn't that I needed any convincing! I just needed to go and buy the disc, that's all (they didn't have Absolution when I bought the first 2 on sale). ;) There are always a million CDs/DVDs/Books to buy...one has to find the right moment for any particular one.
