Summer 2012

"You'll never guess who just flashed up on TMZ.  Perez hasn't got it yet, but I'd give it maybe ten more minutes."

"Who is it this time," Johnny asks not bothering to hide his distraction.  The car ahead moves forward two feet.  If the baristas don't hurry up, he's going to be late to the rink.  Mrs Cohen's going to have his balls for earrings.  He inches forward, almost kissing bumpers.

"LysacekJohnny very nearly steps on the gas, ending up leaning on the horn instead.  The guy in front of him leans out the window and flips up his middle finger.  Johnny ignores him.  "What?  What is he ( ... )

He deliberately turns his phone off after checking TMZ; even now, after years of not caring, not being in the same place, they're still going to be calling Johnny for a sound bite ( ... )

The voicemail on his home phone is full and he deletes it all without listening to any of the messages. He's talked to the important people already and he doesn't need to hear the rest ( ... )

I am so glad you decided to continue this. It is so painful to see Evan and Johnny this way, knowing they care for one another and yet can't seem to really be together because of their circumstances. Johnny's anger about Evan 'dating' Tanith and Evan's hurt/jealousy over Drew were so well done. Can't wait for more!!!

I'm so glad that you're writing this. Your first fic made me cry. *is glad that things are going to be solved* :) Love it so far!

God, this is already so, so wonderful. I really ache for Johnny - and Evan, too, which is a testament to your writing skills. I love the way you reference things that happen previously, and only later explain them. I can already tell this is fabulous, and I can't wait for more!

I am so glad you continued this, anon! Love it so far, all the time jumps work so well, adore the glimpses of Johnny/Evan throughout the years.

This is probably not the place to ask, but I've heard mentions of the Jenny thing and was hoping someone could explain to me what happened with her and Evan.

I'll be writing as close to canon as poss with them - there may be some invention where there just isn't the information, but nothing will outright contradict, if that helps at all!

Also, thanks for the comment! :D

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate how close to canon you're making this -- it's hard to do in RPS, but it's totally worthwhile. I can't count how many fics I've been thrown out of because details were so incredibly off. This fic hasn't done that to me, and the writing is awesome!

It makes it slower going, because I have to check everything - making sure I knew which ladies I could include in the picture discussion for example! - but I am a bit slavish about being accurate where possible! TBH, I like the challenge of making the story fit the facts...

Bear with me if it takes a little longer, in short!

It definitely helps, thank you! I really appreciate all the canon details, I am a little obsessive when it comes to factual accuracy myself so this is wonderful. (In fact, because of this have just been reading Jenny Kirk's blog. Oh my life. Was she friends with Johnny then? I wonder if they still are.)
