challenges and inspiration

A month after I graduated from college, my friend and I decided to take a road trip from NYC to the south, inspired by our studies of the civil rights movement. Thanks juice. I forgot about her four adopted kids working at the restaurant.

I'm not sure you understand what a socially awkward nerd I am in real life. While I'd love for Hurriyah to know about her influence on me, the thought of just calling her up and telling her after these six years is paralyzingly terrifying.

I can't help it, I get it from my dad. One social cripple begat another.

if you don't feel too shy, maybe a way around confessing your true love would be to email the gullah welcome center and see if they have an address for her.
