I had hoped that Catherine's pet allergies were largely alleviated because of tolerance, and I think to a large extent they are, as of right now, but not entirely. Tonight, Becky licked her face, and she (Catherine) developed blotchy redness and bumps in the area Becky licked. No real swelling, yet, but I'm sure that's on its way ( Read more... )

Some brief unpleasantness for a short regimen sounds like a good trade-off if they're able to boost her tolerance. I have a nephew who was allergic to all sorts of things when he was a kid, but after his treatments, he can have a dog, be outside in the grass, etc. Didn't do anything to his food allergies, but I suppose that's a different matter entirely.

Yeah, I'm sure the egg allergy is going to be with her for a while, but I'm hopeful that the cat and dog thing can be addressed. I made an appointment for her, so we'll see what we can do.
