Up from the dark an elfin singing

Last night I babysat a 5-year-old boy named Isaac. (He's the son of someone I worked with at the library.) It was the best job ever. I babysat for about an hour, then sent the kid to bed, and proceeded to read for two and a half hours. And I got paid for that. Awesomeness. :)

Today's poem~~~

'Atlantis' by Conrad Aiken )

reading, mythology, poetry month

The timbers quiver, as eerily comes
Up from the dark an elfin singing
Of voices happy as none can be,
And bells an ethereal anthem ringing.

Favorite part of that poem. *___*

Yay for being paid to read! A book geek's dream!

That was my favourite part of the poem too! Hence the journal entry title (during poetry month, the entry titles are my favourite lines of the day's poem, instead of some lyric or phrase pertaining to my mood).

It was awesome to get paid for mostly reading. :D And the kid was pretty mellow, too. The worst thing he did was try to get away with not brushing his teeth.
