Un beso de cal

There's another library assistant job opening. I called about it yesterday but they don't want me porque no hablo español perfectamente. )

And I'm supposed to have worked in a library for a year before applying to grad school.

Now this part I did not know.

Thanks. =/ It's not so much a requirement as a "very strongly recommended" thing. They want to make sure you actually like being a librarian before you go getting a degree in it.

Yo creo que tu sea bilingue tambien, y esa biblioteca es muy estupido. Es probable que esa biblioteca no comprende su inteligencia grande y mucho skillz.

To conclude, you rock. And my Spanish needs a lot of work. :o)

I still say kiddie book store! Although perhaps not in the career path, how fun would that be???

I applied for the children's department of a bookstore, and they didn't want me either. =( This Bryn Mawr degree apparently isn't doing much for me here in Santa Barbara right now.

That makes absolutely no sense--how do they expect you to work in a library if, theoretically, they haven't taught you how to do it yet? I would be very frustrated, too! Do they require the year of work, or is it suggested?

I'm proud of myself because I understood all of your Spanish! I haven't taken Spanish for 4 years . . . which is why I probably couldn't put together a conherent response to you in Spanish *lol* But I think you could have done just fine!

Yeah, it's not actually required (I think) but it's very strongly recommended, especially if you're taking time off before going to grad school. To make sure you actually like being a librarian. And there are entry-level jobs that don't require a degree, but they don't want me apparently.
