I wrote my first computer program in Python! \o/

Not my first computer program ever, 'cause I took an intro computer science class before I started my master's, but for that course we just used some Microsoft language I can't even remember the name of, rather than a language that anyone actually uses. So now I've written my first program in a language that is used more widely. It's just a dumb ( Read more... )

Eee, programming is hard! I wish you luck with it. I started JavaScript a few months ago and it definitely makes me go, "...bwuh??"

It is! This was just an easy program, but the next one is trickier!

I never actually learned JS properly, just the bits of code I needed at the time, and that was definitely very "...bwuh??"

Oh, fascinating that the first use of "bug" was 1889! I'd heard this story about the moth in the Harvard mainframe in 1947, but I love that people were positing imaginary beasties well before that!

So fascinating! That's 120 years of bugs-in-the-machines!

Also, I love that the Harvard folks taped the actual moth to their log book. :) We should try to find it at NMAH sometime!
