[Castiel doesn't seem aware that the PCD is recording, have apparently accidentally turned it on while programing some settings. Since he's not aware anyone's watching, he's less guarded and restrained than usual, and it's easier to read his expressions. He looks some combination of frustrated, worried, and tired, and he's obviously distracted

[Yeah thanks, Lucifer. He honestly doesn't even notice the attempt at the moment, as he's picking how to phrase what he's going to say. He's not being so careful in general anymore, but he's still a bit cautious, so he leads off with something placating.]

You were right. There was something that was missed.

[Now that they're working together, Lucifer is marginally less condescending. So there is that. Even with this news he doesn't say 'I told you so'.]

[It's his default response, but then he remembers that not only would she see through it, but he could actually talk to her.]

[And she appreciates the fact that he doesn't stick to the "I'm fine" default response. She doesn't like when people say that whereas it's obviously not true.]

Your incursion into the Inner City?

By the way, I talked with Anna. She seemed rather upset about something that happened back there in your world. [He could be worried about her. Raven knows he cares a lot about her.]

Part of it, yes. Part is dealing with Lucifer in planning and otherwise.

[Aaaand then that. He doesn't say anything for another short time, trying to decide how to. It wasn't like lying would go over well; he'd found that out, and Raven had understood when he'd trusted her to before. So eventually, he tells the truth and responds.]

However, you should know that I've found out something that will impact our plans to enter the Inner City. It seems that upon passing the walls, all supernatural abilities are drained.

[Liar. Rei eyes him for a long moment, idly wondering whether or not she should call him out on it -- but calling Castiel out on lying will probably only make whatever is bothering him worse.

There's a way to act with people like Castiel. Bluntly shoving their problems in their face is not the way to do it.

Too bad Rei doesn't know the problem is actually her.]

...you can program some of the buttons on your PCD to set filters up automatically, you know. It's faster and easier. Ami showed me how to do it, when she was first here.

[He just stares at her right back, unblinkingly, waiting to see if she'll say anything. She's exactly right in her decision not to press being the correct one in dealing with him, and despite that he doesn't want to be speaking with her he doesn't cut the feed.]

[Because though Castiel could use electronics with a surprising amount of skill for an angel not well versed in humanity in general, he was no master of them as evidenced by the post in the first place. A shortcut was greatly appreciated
