[If you live on the first floor, or are on your way outside, you might smell the unpleasant odor of something burning. Heck, you can probably smell it if you live near the stairs on the second floor. If you're idling with your communicator, you can see a mess of bowls, food, and what appears to be pale orange goo on the counter top and dripping

*Tim has hidden in his room long enough, and while he's still technically hiding in there, he can at least PRETEND he's not by talking on the comms. That makes sense right? Right.*

Are.. Are you cooking orange juice?

[There's a bit of hesitation in his answer, as well as soft, panicked breaths.] No.

Okay.

What uhm.. What was it?

They're going to be pancakes. [Well, they were going to be pancakes. But now they're way past that point and turning into drink coasters.]

[nomansplaything]

[Bagheera has been prowling the first floor.

He smells this odor from the kitchen... So he pads toward the kitchen to investigate.

Akihiko will probably see a pink nose on a gray muzzle poke through the doorway and sniff the air.]

[Akihiko is still learning how not to be prowled upon by panthers. When he spots Bagheera's nose, he gasps, hitting a bowl of what appears to be batter and knocking it all over the counter.]

[Bagheera jumps, still learning how not to be startled by how flighty Men can be.

After taking a moment to catch his breath, he enters the kitchen, eying Akihiko for another frightful reaction.

Sniffing, he approaches the counter.]

I apologize for startling you, Akihiko.

...What are you making?

No problem. Pancakes. [He takes his spatula and pulls the skillet off the flame, scraping the burnt cakes onto a plate where other unsavory attempts sit.]

[Mitsuru is actually...right outside where he is, so it's stupid to be on the communicator, but she's a bit afraid of the mess he's caused.]

Akihiko! What do you think you're doing?

[wings_of_vanth]

Huh? [He reaches over and turns the communicator towards him and the stove. There are very dark brownish-orange discs of varying sizes on a griddle, smoking and popping.] Making breakfast.

That is not breakfast, Akihiko. I am not even certain what that is, but it's very ...burnt.

They're not as fancy as Shinji's, but I'm sure they're fine. [He take ones to eat it...but turns his head from her to hide his reaction before facing her again.] They're edible.

[He watches. And then his eyes narrow.]

What the hell is that shit, 'cause it sure as hell ain't pancakes.

What are you talking about Shinji? Ow! [The griddle's spitting at him. Needs more...water?] They're not pancakes yet.

What the fuck are they, then?

[wings_of_vanth]

[He sighs.] I'm trying to do this myself. They don't taste that bad.

[Feferi's walking towards the kitchen. She's not sure what she's in the mood for, but she's in a mood to cook.

The burning smell is the first sign that something's gone wrong.

As she reaches the kitchen she spots Akihiko cooking. Attempting to, at least. Immediately she moves to help clear up a little]

Are you alright?

[wings_of_vanth]

Huh? Oh, hey Feferi! [Akihiko smiles, despite standing in the middle of a food war zone. He glances down at the griddle and gasps a bit, tilting the pan so his batter doesn't pour off the side and onto the flame. Again.] Yeah, just...making breakfast!

Oh.

[She pauses. Then, deciding to take the bluntly honest approach]

And here I thought I was messy.

[wings_of_vanth]

[Akihiko just laughs, a bit of color in his face.] Don't worry, I'll clean up.

Do you like pancakes?
