[If you live on the first floor, or are on your way outside, you might smell the unpleasant odor of something burning. Heck, you can probably smell it if you live near the stairs on the second floor. If you're idling with your communicator, you can see a mess of bowls, food, and what appears to be pale orange goo on the counter top and dripping

[Feferi's walking towards the kitchen. She's not sure what she's in the mood for, but she's in a mood to cook.

The burning smell is the first sign that something's gone wrong.

As she reaches the kitchen she spots Akihiko cooking. Attempting to, at least. Immediately she moves to help clear up a little]

Are you alright?

Huh? Oh, hey Feferi! [Akihiko smiles, despite standing in the middle of a food war zone. He glances down at the griddle and gasps a bit, tilting the pan so his batter doesn't pour off the side and onto the flame. Again.] Yeah, just...making breakfast!

[cull_means_care]

Oh.

[She pauses. Then, deciding to take the bluntly honest approach]

And here I thought I was messy.

[wings_of_vanth]

[Akihiko just laughs, a bit of color in his face.] Don't worry, I'll clean up.

Do you like pancakes?

[cull_means_care]

I don't think I've ever had any before...are they meant to smell like the kitchen's been on fire.

[As she sort-of prods at one which looks a little too overdone]

[wings_of_vanth]

No...I made a mistake somewhere. [Or ten.] They're supposed to look like this. [He shows her the picture in the cookbook; a pretty stack of three lightly brown hotcakes with syrup poured over them.]

[She looks at the page, then glances at Akihiko's attempts]

They look nice...in the picture. Where's it going wrong?

Sure. [Akihiko doesn't give up easily. And he doesn't mind Feferi's company at all.]

[Feferi looks at the book, clearing some space for them to work and moving to collect some ingredients]

It's a good job Wonderland's so generous with these things.

Yeah. I think I'd be banned from the kitchen if I tried this back home. [He chuckles a bit.]

[Feferi smiles, setting everything up on the biggest clear surface she can find]
