Remind me never to ask you to babysit.

Henry's still human. Just...you know, differently alive.

What are yours like?

Which makes him worlds apart from the vampires I am familiar with, for they were never anything like human.

Please. Don't even suggest that being nonhuman is tantamount to being an animal.

They are simply born and bred that way. Have for a few thousand of years, as far as I can remember.

So they can have little vampire babies?

Which grow up to be big vampires with vampire babies of their own, over the course of a hundred years or more, perhaps.

Freaky.

Do they sleep during the day?

By necessity. Their skin is very sensitive to UV radiation. In minutes they can suffer third degree burns.

I guess it's not that different. 'Cept for being born and the feeding and everything.

They don't feed. Not anymore.

Humanity has given them a way to move beyond predation.

If they don't need blood, what makes them vampires?

Reply

winewomenand June 17 2009, 03:30:40 UTC
They need the blood in a very chemical sense. Components of it, in extremely large doses, which they cannot live without. They also eat food and drink water, although as far as I'm aware, it isn't necessary. Just delicious.

It isn't diet which makes them a threat, however. There are just as many violent, psychopathic nonhumans as there are humans. Some of them bite.

Oh, I know. You aren't what you eat.

Thank Zeus. That would make me a grapevine.

I don't think we can call wine a food group.
