Yaaaaay! So excite. (But seriously, I have ALWAYS wonderd why you NEED THE SCISSORS to GET THE SCISSORS.)
Just be sure to get a good pair of paper scissors, or else you'll be buying the sewing scissors aaaaaall over again in a month if you do any kind of serious fabric cutting. Paper scissors dull the hell out of fabric scissors. Also, a good investment for you might be a pair of pinking shears. If you have a fabric that frays when you cut it, pinking shears make the edges go /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ so that it doesn't fray nearly as much.* People that want to invest in permanent/professional finishing buy a serger machine, but it's waaaay too early for you to do that. And hey - now you have scissors to get into the new packs of scissors! \o/
*you can also zig zag stitch your edges for a similar effect.
Sooooooo excited! *twirls around with you* (I know, right? HELLO, LOGIC. WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?)
Paper scissors = just regular scissors, right? I have a pair of those... somewhere. I think my momma has pinking shears, but IDK how old/sharp they are. I'll put them on my list for next month, though so I have a pair I can always find.
I WANT A SERGER!!!!!! I have done SO MUCH reading on sewing and things and, yes, I want. With the fiery burning passion of a thousand blue hypergiants.
I am, however, also painfully aware that new hobbies I am interested in have a variable rate of staying, unfortunately. So I told myself that if I complete a dozen projects in the next year, I will buy myself a serger. Actually, I should prolly buy my own sewing machine first. I'm using Momma's right now and it's kind of old. Dunno how much life it has left in it. :(
Gah. GAH, I SAY. I really should be doing homework today and saving this all for next week after school ends but I WAAAAAAAANT! *flail*
