Most of my friends know that I am a supporter of the previous and current Russian presidents. They seem more honest in their wishes to lift up their county; to decrease the distance between the rich and the poor. This said distance especially increased in the years that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union.

I think that is really touching and I am surprised that one person decided to call it mocking.

It is quite disturbing to realise how priviledged I am sometimes. I have a friend living in Bulgaria and it seems like people from that whole region are still elading very simple lives and cannot afford luxuries at all. Apart from the luxuries and western conveniences though, he says that they struggle to make ends meet which I think is very sad.

Well, I must note that this is primarily what I would call the style of those living in small poorer towns and rural villages. Your middle class does live a bit better.

And what a contrast to the lives of OBSCENE wealth enjoyed by the Russian oiligarchs and gas quazillionaires abroad. Many of whom are said to be, or have been, cronies of the Russian government. I think the lives of the proletariat will improve if corruption is very briskly, thoroughly, and without fear or favour rooted out and destroyed, and reparation made in full.

The biggest problem is that corruption in Russia stems to the Soviet times and it will take take decades to get rid of it.
