Of flavorful brewed coffee (and a waiter)

The popular coffee-houses have terrible coffee. The unpopular ones have great coffee...and a waiter.
Going to shops like Starbucks isn't really my thing. The whole process of coming in, standing in line and then rushing of to work again; what's the use in that. Once you get to work you won't even know what you just bought. However, I always liked going to these little, random coffee-houses where there's no rush hour. Where you can sit back and enjoy a special flavored coffee, not keeping track of time.
Most of the coffee-houses I went to have turned into 'rush hour' ones, except for one. I love going to it, since it has the best coffee and service.
But of course the real reason of why I always go there, is because my best friend, Minwoo, works at the place. He loves working there, even though the shop is not that popular, which means there aren't a lot of customers, but still enough for the shop to exist. He always tells me that's what he likes most, that way he has more time for the customers that do come. Whenever I come he helps me first, even if there are other customers. He gives me an extra large piece of cake, and when his boss isn't around he lets me try the new flavors that were just imported.
When I first found out about the place, it was on it's way to closing forever. There were even less customers than now, and when I took a seat the place looked all sad. But when I got my ordered coffee, I couldn't understand it. It was better than all the other coffees I had tasted, the true taste of coffee was almost overwhelming, but it wasn't too much. After I had ordered my third cup, I knew this place was a keeper.
So the next few weeks I visited the place more often, and I saw the shop getting emptier and even sadder. That was, until the owner decided it was time for some changes. The shop closed for a few days and in these days it underwent a huge transformation. I went by it after school every day, and the first day it changed it's colors, it's menu and it's waiter (well, I found out about that last one when the shop reopened, but still).
When I got in, I found out they still had my favorite coffee, but I read it's name on a different menu, it was brought by a different waiter and it appeared in a different cup. It still tasted the same though, so I decided that all the changes were positive.
And of course, that's how I met Minwoo. He was told by the owner, who is his uncle, that the coffee-house needed a make-over, and that he was exactly the type who could help with that. Of course Minwoo accepted, he could use the money after all.
When I ordered my coffee, I didn't really notice him because I was too worried that the cafe would be changed completely and that they wouldn't have my favorite coffee. I sat there impatiently, tapping my fingers on the table, worrying about my coffee.
“Is there a problem?” a voice said, at the same time putting the coffee down. “Did I take too long? I'm sorry if I did...” Upon hearing a different voice, my head shot up and I looked at the new boy. In front of me stood a brown haired teen, about as tall as me. His hair was styled very neatly, like he had just been to a stylist.
“What?”
“Is there a problem....sir?” he replied, tilting his head and grinning.
I narrowed my eyes at the 'sir' part, it was obvious that I wasn't that much older than him.
“No...not yet.” I said while scowling, reaching out to my cup to take a sip.
“Not yet?”
While sipping tentatively, I peaked at him from under my fringe. He was definitely better than the previous waiter, both looks and friendliness. When tasting the unchanged coffee, I put my cup on the table again.
“Well, it would have been 'not yet' if the coffee didn't taste the same as before, but since it's still the same...there's no problem.”
He looked slightly puzzled, before he shrugged. “I guess that's alright then. Call me whenever you need something else, alright?”
I nodded, but he had already gone back to the counter. I got back to drinking my coffee, meanwhile peaking glances at the waiter. He got me looking a few times, which made me look away in embarrassment, but it didn't hold me back from peaking again. There was just something about him that interested me. From the way he treated his customers, to how he made a cup of coffee; his movements were all different from what I was used to.
When most of the customers where gone, I walked to the counter.
“What can I get you?” he asked. That had me speechless, I hadn't thought about that, I just wanted to talk to him. Scratching my head in an attempt to hide my embarrassment, I tried to think of something. Looking at the thing closest to me, I pointed a the pieces of pie.
“I would like one of those.”
“Which one?”
“Eh...which one do you recommend?”
He grabbed a delicious looking chocolate pie.
“Definitely one of my favorites. It isn't all chocolate, but some surprising flavors as well.” The way he said it, somehow made me smile.
“How much is it?”
“Five bucks for you,” he smirked and winked at me. I smiled again for some reason, taking the pie from him.
Taking a seat at the counter I took a bite. It was like a flavor bomb exploded in my mouth; there were so many flavors at the same time and it was heavenly.
He smirked knowingly. “Nice, huh?”
I just nodded, not wanting to waste time with talking when I could be eating. When I was almost done, I started to eat slower, wanting to enjoy it as long as I could.
When it was done, he made me a cup of coffee again, grabbing one himself too. He sat down next to me, and we started chatting about school and the shop. I was surprised to find out that we went to the same school, I'd never seen him before. Which wasn't surprising when he told me he was a year younger than me, and thus in a different grade.
“You know, you're quite handsome when you don't scowl,” he suddenly said, reaching up and moving my fringe out of my face. I felt a blush creeping up, so I moved away from his hand and rubbed the back of my neck nervously.
“Thanks...I guess.” I wasn't like this normally. In fact: most of the time it was me acting all flirtatious and stuff. But being on the receiving hand was definitely different, I had to admit I liked it (not that I would ever admit that to Minwoo, though).
He smirked, dropping the subject and looking at the clock.
“It's almost closing time...shouldn't you get going?”
I looked at the clock too, being surprised at how time had flown by.
“Yeah, I probably should be heading home about now...if I want to be on time for dinner and all.”
Minwoo moved behind the counter again, so I got my wallet out to pay for my stuff.
“So....you'll be back sometime?” he asked, scratching his cheek. I smiled at him.
“Of course...if I get a discount on the pie again.”
He broke out in a face-splitting grin. “Sure sure.”
“See you tomorrow then.” And with a wave I walked away.
“You like me that much, huh?” I heard him yelling after me. I grinned when I walked out the coffee-house thinking that yeah, maybe I did.
