You know, it's been a good long while since I've been embroiled in fandom... fandomness. I've always been in that sort of lurking part of the fandom, crawling out from the darkness only to review certain fics or answer the odd ficsearch. And even though I've been in the Gundam Wing fandom for 10 years (dear god, has it been 10 years already?), I ( Read more... )

But of course! Zero-G sex is possible if you have a tether or a third person to anchor you. ^_~*

dude, seriously!

i consider duo's eyes to be blue, but i'm okay if you call them violet and i'll love you all the same(call them 'amaryllis orbs' though and i might have to take evasive action). i agree that heero might not ever have a good sense of humour but i think he'll be one of those people who try really hard and it's endearing. nevertheless i personally wrote a bizarrely quirky heero. it's okay~

i'm *all* for live and let live. however you want to see the boys, good on you. just don't put down other people's interpretations to lend yours legitimacy! 9_9

(ps - did you read the little thread on the comm where "all asians are short"? and someone fondly refers to heero as an "asian mutt"? that's classy.)

Maybe Duo has those eyes that change colors depending on your mood. My friend has hazel eyes, but they're very green when she's happy. *only has plain brown eyes woe* I have been known to abuse the color amethyst. Because it sounds prettier and more exotic than "purple."

(yes, i saw that. it was... well, i've been in that "how tall" discussion before. only less wanky. and i might've been drinking at the time.)

yeah... i'm not sure how tall japanese boys get, but i know for a fact that northern chinese boys (in particular) and korean boys can quite easily get up to around 6 ft. and i *do* know halfer (which is what i call them... not sure if it's any nicer than 'mutt' but i'd like to think so) kids who, like heero, have more caucasian characteristics than asian, and they're the ones who get up to 5'10" and stuff.

but!

regardless! why are they so hung up on how tall the boys get? why all of that analysis and pseudo-academic discussion? of all the fanon cliches to rant about! lol!!! i want to make the boys 7ft. tall. who cares? does it change their characterization?

omg... O_O do you think if i'd managed to grow to 5'5"... i'd have a Completely Different Personality? maybe i'd be more serious and solemn... yes... >_>

I will freely admit that I more or less got interested in GW because of Duo Maxwell (or rather, his hair).

I wonder how many hundreds of fangirls followed the banner of that braid into the fandom...

I have never found more and better fic anywhere than I found for Gundam Wing. :( I miss it. I wish I'd gotten in the habit of keeping good records, without assuming that I'd always remember what it was and where it was, that one fic I really liked...

*sigh, tearwipe*

Oh well.

More people followed the braid into the fandom than you think, but not so many will admit it, because THAT'S SHALLOW. *rolls in the shallow pool of shallowness*

And I do adore GW fics. There's a good thread of quality all across the board, better than in alot of fandoms. I want to stab my eyes when I think of the Sailor Moon, Ranma, and other fics I read early on that I thought were "good" but now realize are all mary sues, self insertion, or godmodding with characters.

And if you want a fic, ask! I can probably remember it and/or find it. XD

Well... I... uh... Okay, how's about that fantasy AU fic where the Gundams were some sort of animal or magical companion spirits, and Sandrock possessed Quatre and destroyed a whole town, and they killed him, and then it turned out that the town had been infectd by evil or something? And Heero always beat up Duo but only because he liked him.

How about the time-travel fic where traumatized and bitter Duo (or rather, 02) travelled back in time to save Heero from dying of self destruct, in order to change the future?

How about the... okay, I remember where to find the Confessor series, and I remember the title "Asylum" even if I don't remember who wrote it, and.... I can't remember any other fics right now. :(

The first one, I don't remember, but I'm sure someone else does. Oh! Oh wait! I think that's the fic where the Gundams are spirit companions of a sort and they're all searching for... something? The spirits want to be free of the mortal plain or something? And a violin got smashed?! GAH I CAN'T REMEMBER THE TITLE BUT I READ THAT ONE.

The time travel one I remember reading and being tormented and I think it's on jana's site. Aahh... it's "Cadence of Time" by Spooks! Yay for GWYaoi.org and their recs list.

Confessor Series is by Annabelle and archived on GWA. "Asylum" is also by Spooks.

=D

*whee hugs~*

Thanks. ^^;; It really kinda hurts to see more fandom wankery and stuff. I thought the fandom was over that phase by now. I guess fandoms nver outgrow their wank.

I think it's some of the fans, not The Fandom per se. *ducks flying missiles* Mind you, I suppose one begets the other. *sigh* It wears me out sometimes, too, and I have to go hide. But then if it's kept people like you interested for that many years, I think that shows there's more to it than fashion, that it's got more substance than we give some credit for, and that there's still gold to be panned out from the dross.

Glad there are people like you around to try to spread perspective and sense (and love of unadulterated smut... ^_~)

*snorts* Most people come into the fandom because THEY WANT THE SMUT. It's most definitely not in the canon, and it's natural for people to want to explore their personalities and relationships.

I will laugh at anyone who tells me they started reading GW fics because of the canon politics. Because it's a lie. The canon politics are insane. People want the dirty dirty smut. ♥
