The Cloud is Lifting

Interesting week. I made a major decision on Wednesday to leave my church and start looking for a more intimate church. I've been struggling with a lack of motivation or desire to be there. It finally dawned on me when I was driving to Chicago Sunday morning that I didn't miss or feel bad at all about not being in church. That's not good.

I'm very glad to hear you're arriving at a place of peace and satisfaction with your situation. It's beetn too long coming, and I'm glad to see you're able to enjoy yourself.

As for your church situation, all I can suggest is that you shop around. Much depends on what you're looking for, your level of committment, and your "feel" for the spirit of the church you're visiting. We're rather lucky in Madison, in that the range of diversity, even within a denomination, can vary from parish to parish. You already know where my sympathies lie, and I'm sufficiently aware of my own prejudices to try to influence your decisions. That said, know that the doors of St.Andrew's are always open to you.
