Made another pound cake this morning. Added almond extract. Used the round springform pan since the volume works better than the loaf pans I have.

And made almond shortbread again. Nice and rounder and smaller and slightly darker.

Both should be good. And to share with poker acquaintance. And perhaps some of the dealers that I like.

About a week ago, went to La Center and ended up losing at the 8/16 HE. So went over to the other casino (New Phoenix) to play blackjack. Well, it was Saturday and very busy.

Went to Master Kings today.

Got the chicken dumplings, buns, and pea leaves.

The buns were good. The dumplings not worth it. And the snow pea leaves were tender and tasty but a bit too salty.

It's okay in terms of prices. But you order at the kiosk and they bring out food.

Walked to GG the other day - 5/22/24 - to get coffee and got an almond croissant. Wowza, it was great!

Very crunchy and crispy the next day with almond paste spread on the inside. Perfect!

Reminded me of the almond thing from Tous les Jours but with more almond paste. Nom nom nom!

This is the small place near Winco and Final Table.

Tried the small almond cookies, BBQ pastry, curry pastry, and sachima.

The sachima is really good - crispy and tasty and not rancid. Gotten it a few times now.
The other items are okay, nothing that special.

Went to Fresh Meet near Xin Ding and got tofu flower. Not worth it. Expensive and not very rich and the syrup did not have ginger.

Better to buy it from H Mart.
