Drunk on the Moon

Oct 06, 2006 10:00

Keep an eye out for the Harvest Moon tonight, boys and girls.

The oculoplastic surgeon for whom I work forwarded me this article about why our eyes perceive moonlight the way they do. Anyone here have "moonvision"? :)

I'm going to go outside tonight and check! My eye doctor always comments (3 separate times, last visit) on my apparently ENORMOUS pupils. So I'll have to go outside and see if they're useful in moonlight. :)

Hey! Wish you'd been at Athena's wedding, it was fun. Would've been nice to see you!

I wish I'd been able to be there too. I really really wanted to, but it just wasn't in the cards, financially. Or time-off-work wise either. Stupid grown-up job, using all my time and energy! Argh. But then again, I do get to look at bleeding eye sockets all day every day. So that's...um...fun. Yes. Heh.

But yeah! Test out that moonvision! The Goddess wants YOU to see in the dark! :)

I tried it, and She must because I can. I was intrigued by the article, because I tried to remember NOT being able to read in moonlight, and nothing came. Yes, it's harder, but I don't get blind spots like it said, it's the same as trying to read in too little regular light. Yay freaky eyes!

Of course, I cringe like a vampire-wannabe in the mornings, especially when it's sunny on snow. My sunglasses are my life!!!!!
