Well this morning I was awakened at 3 am by an inconsolable Ryan. Got him calmed down and back to sleep only for him to wake up at 7 ish and start throwing up ( Read more... )

I had sick babies this week too. It's really tough when you know they're suffering and there really isn't a whole lot you can do to make it better, yeah?

It sucks hard! And on top of everything Ryan is refusing to take the medicine... Silly kid, it'll make you feel better. *shrugs* What can you do?

I hate that I can't do anything for him, you know?

It doesn't help that he's fighting the medicine.

And if you do get him to take the antibiotic, attempt in some way to get him to eat yoghurt or something with live cultures to mitigate the effect of the antibiotic killing all the flora in his gut, poor guy!

Hugs to you!

I planned ahead for the 'nasty' side effect of antibiotics, I picked up a 4 pack of a flavor he likes. So we're set there.

I ended up calling the doctor back (because no matter what we tried he wasn't taking it). She's going to call in to the pharmacy for a different flavor of the Amoxicillin. Hopefully he'll take it better. I hate when my little ones are sick.

I was so lucky with D. Not only would she take amoxicillin or augmentum (our antibiotic of choice back then) well, I think she liked the taste. Good thing! She was on it for a year due to chronic sinus infections.

Yay for a flavor of yoghurt that he likes.

Sinus infections... Blech. I would not be able to deal with a year long chronic sinus infection. It was odd that Ryan spit it out at first; 'cause he's normally so good about taking other medicine. I was genuinely surprised at how easily both my boys take meds. I've heard horror stories and now I'm living one.

Again with the surprise at Ryan liking yoghurt. Dylan won't touch the stuff(which I find odd, 'cause it's not like he'd have to chew it, he should have taken right to it), but Ryan, man. He'll gobble it up like it's going out of style.
