Once again, Fandoms Collide

SO I turned on the TV while I was making my husbands lunch and flipped though to the Lifetime channel. And who do I see but Paul Michael Glasser (best known as Starsky) playing a detective (poor guy couldn't get out of the roll). Also (a much younger) David Hewlett (who plays Rodney McKay on StarGate: Atlantis) and the guy from N.C.I.S. all in the ( Read more... )

*giggles* I posted a...okay, it wasn't a review. It wasn't even a summary. It was a random bunch of shit, but I did post about that movie a couple of months ago. I blame Kimberly. As usual. :-)

Out of curiosity...were you as amused as I was when PMG had his feet up on the desk, wise-assing off to the Fibbie cop?

Yes!! It was such a 'Starsky' thing to do. I wonder if that was intentional on his part, or if it's just the stereotypical 'local detective's always distrust/hate/mouth off to the Feds' reaction.

I'll have to look for that post...

I don't know that it was intentionally a Starsky thing to do, but it was more than just an anti-Fed thing. The same way Jim's "Let's all torture the substitute" in Finkleman's Folly was more than just his dislike of button-down types. It was--in all three cases (Starsky, the ANLHG cop, and Jim), IMO--a matter of a sort of rebellious personality, one that I happen to share (which is why I love writing Starsky). :-)

And, the post I mentioned is here: http://mashfanficchick.livejournal.com/50786.html. :-)

I found the post and commented on it. I can see what you are saying wrt the rebellious personality. It's one more layer for me to explore in my fic... I'm really nervous about getting S&H right in it. I guess we'll see.

Thanks for sharing your opinion.

I could see where DH's character was coming from though (kind of). He came across as the youngest, and as the youngest he was expected to help where he could and keep his mouth shut. He was kind of stuck in a bad spot (and he eventually showed remorse and went to the cops). as for Mark Harmon's character: he was totally creepy and uncomfortable.

I guess I sympathise with DH's char. because I'm also the youngest (mind you i've never been in the situation he was in), I can see his reaction to his position in the family...
