“William Moseley…if you ever touch me again so help me!” screamed Anna in the hospital room.

“I know darling…I promise…I won’t…” Will said, trying to keep from laughing. Anna had gone into labor while they were visiting his parents. Partly, he was grateful for that because he had been so nervous when Anna said her water broke that he couldn’t think straight. Thank God for mum, he thought.

He sat behind Anna on the bed to support her back. The doctor thought it would be better that way, although the way Anna was gripping her nails into his neck made him regret the decision slightly.

“Come on, Anna…take deep breaths…we’re not quite there yet…just breathe and the contraction will be over soon…” the nurse said. She turned to the side table and grabbed a cup of ice chips for Anna, which she gratefully accepted.

A few moments later, the pain subsided and Anna breathed a sigh of relief. She loosened her grip on her husband, and laid her head back against his chest. Will pushed aside a few pieces of hair sticking to her face and kissed the top of her head.

“How are you, love?” he asked, holding her tightly.

“I don’t think I can do this, Will…” she mumbled wearily.

“You’re doing wonderful, Anna…you don’t have much more to go…just rest now…save your strength…”

“Hmmm…we’re going to have a baby…” Anna whispered.

Resting his head on top of his wife’s, Will smirked, “Is that what all this is about?”

“You’re not funny…and if I wasn’t so tired, you’d be crying about your ear…”

“I love you, Anna…”

“I love you, too, Will…I love you…”

Things were calm for a few minutes, until Anna screamed in pain again. The doctor and nurse immediately ran back into the room. After reading the machines in the room, the doctor turned to the couple.

“Alright…this is it…”

------------------------

The entire Moseley family as well as the Popplewell’s were all waiting patiently in the waiting room of the hospital for news. Skandar and Georgie were there, too, sitting to the side. Georgie was biting her finger nails and bouncing her leg up and down. Skandar kept running his hand through his hair and had become quite fascinated with his wrist watch, which he kept fiddling with.

“This is taking forever…I hope she’s alright…” Georgie said nervously.

“It’s only been five hours…my mum was in labor with me for nine…” replied Skandar.

“Good God…remind me never to have a baby…”

“No problem…”

“It’s really quiet in here…”

“I know…everyone’s just waiting…relax…you’re making me nervous…”

Rolling her eyes, Georgie asked, “Who was the one who called me fifteen times while I was on my way here about if I thought everything was going to go okay?”

“Shut up, brat…” smirked Skandar.

“Are you nervous about becoming an Uncle?”

Shrugging his shoulders and thinking for a moment before responding, “Maybe…I doubt Will and Anna would leave me alone with their child anyway…”

Georgie scowled at him, “You don’t give yourself enough credit…of course they would…they trust you and so do I…you’ve taken care of me plenty of times…”

“Well, babies in general make me nervous…”

Before Georgie could respond, Will came out of the double doors to the delivery room with a wide smile on his face. His parents and Anna’s as well as their respective siblings stood up immediately.

“He’s here…” Will said and couldn’t help but laugh.

Congratulations were said by everyone and wanted to know when they could go in and see the new mom and new addition to their families. He escorted each family member in one by one and let them see Anna and the baby for a few minutes. Skandar and Georgie were the last to go in.

“Oh Anna, he’s beautiful,” smiled Georgie. “May I hold him?”

“Of course…careful now…you’ve got to support the head,” Anna said.

Georgie carefully took hold of the baby boy, “How are you, Colin? I’m Georgie…”

“Aunt Georgie,” Will corrected sitting beside his wife.

“Aunt Georgie…I promise I’ll look after you…and just so you know whatever your Uncle Skandar says…its just better never to listen to him…” giggled Georgie. She then turned to Skandar who had been watching her and the baby, “Would you like to hold him?”

“Uhhhh…” Skandar said putting his hands up and backing away. “I’m not sure that’s such a good idea…I mean…”

“It’s alright…hold him, Skandar…” Anna said softly.

Taking a deep breath, Skandar took baby Colin from Georgie’s arms, supporting the head just as Anna said. He stared down at the baby for a moment as if he’d never seen one before. He smiled when Colin yawned and closed his eyes.

“I think he needs a nap…” said Skandar.

“So does his mum,” added Will kissing Anna’s forehead.

“We’ll leave you to it then…thank you for letting us come see you…call us tomorrow if you can…” Georgie said kissing Anna and Will goodbye. Skandar embraced Will tightly offering his congratulations and kissed Anna’s cheek.

“Call me if you need anything…” he said before leaving with Georgie.

----------------------

Will was lying beside Anna who held onto her son tightly. He kissed her forehead, and took his son’s hand in his own.

“Our son,” he smiled.

“Yes…he’s quite handsome isn’t he?” inquired Anna stroking the baby’s cheek.

“Of course…look who his father is…”

Anna giggled, “Let’s hope he doesn’t inherit your arrogance.”

Laughing, Will kissed his wife’s mouth gently, “I’m so proud of you, Anna…you did so well today…”

“It wasn’t so bad…after they gave me the pain medication…Can you believe we’re actually parents now, Will? It’s so strange to think it…”

“I know…I didn’t think I would be able to be a father…but just looking at him…holding him…it’s indescribable. I promise to take care of you both…to love you both…”

Kissing her husband once again, Anna replied, “I have no doubt…”

“So how are you feeling, mom?” Will asked.

“Tired…very tired…” answered Anna.

“Well, get some rest then…I’ll take Colin back to the nursery and we’ll see him later…”

Nodding, Anna placed a kiss on top of her son’s head before falling asleep.

“We’re very luck to have your mum in our lives, Colin…” Will began as he carried his son back down the hall. “She’s an amazing woman…I’ll love her forever…especially since she brought you into this world…I’m new at this whole parent thing, but I’ll be the best dad I can…I promise…I’ll always be here for you…to guide you…to give you anything you need…and I’ll love you no matter what…and your mum I’m sure feels the same way…”

Will kissed his son’s forehead and handed him back to the nurse. He stood in front of the nursery window and watched the woman in medical scrubs place Colin in his assigned crib. William couldn’t help the smile that crossed his face. Everything that he and Anna had gone through was more than worth it to bring them to this day…to bring their son into this world. Colin will be another journey Anna and I will go through…and it should be interesting…and I will love them both…I will love them more than anyone, thought Will before walking away from the window and heading back towards his wife.
