Battlestar Galactica: Lack of posting =/= lack of interest. I've really never been much for "I liked this part" and "I didn't like this part," and I don't really have any Burning Meta Thinky-Thoughts at this point. I can see them in the offing, particularly as regards ( spoilers )

heroes, galactica, lost

I watched part of the pilot for Jericho, and it seemed decent. I just knew I wouldn't be able to watch it, no matter how well done. I barely managed two nights of The Day After. And that back when I honestly didn't worry about it much because we lived 30 miles from Denver, so if it ever happened we'd have about 45 seconds to worry about it...

Another thing I was pondering with Peter-- he's the ideal Champion (leader) because only he can borrow the best of everyone around him, and combine it within to create a...superhero, or whatever. But, conversely, he can't abuse the power readily, because he needs to be in contact/proximity to others. (though there are some obvious downsides; if he borrows Hiro's teleportation abilities, then moves himself out of proximity, he might be stranded). That also could reduce inherent isolation ( ... )

If that communication was somehow mental, rather than physical, then it explains the lack of accent and so on. No idea if that's the case, or what...

Huh. It's possible -- maybe another tie-in to Peter's dreams? -- but not necessary by any means. They were very successful in making Future!Hiro look a LOT older, enough to have had time to improve his English that much, certainly by immersion. (And he does still have a slight accent.) As for the outfit, well, if he's used to Peter with scars, it's probably appropriate to the life they're leading.

OTOH, if the communication actually happened in Peter's head, it could explain Mohinder's lack of reaction to his being halfway down the car when the effect stopped -- if it took less time than Peter perceived, but wasn't totally instantaneous, and he just walked there.

All in all, though, it's awfully complicated. Occam's Razor favors Hiro just time-jumping himself back physically, as we've already seen him do.

I assume that's why Nathan can give off mixed messages; his personae are ( ... )

I'm a Classicist-- Occam's Razor has no place in my mind... :P

I assume that's why Nathan can give off mixed messages; his personae are in conflict.

Well, yeah. It's which one will win that's the question. :-)

I wonder if he'll literally split, like Niki? No idea how her abilities came about, of course, but... *shrugs*

And at the moment, Im think how Nathan will come about is dependant upon whether or not he's in politics for status or for power. If for the former, then the status as a hero would suffice (though there might be issues is it's not acknowledged). If Nathan wants power, then he could go dark side, in whatever method in which that occurs in this universe.

and...I'll stop now. :P

But why?

...because I'm trying hard to break my overanalysis habit?

In that case, you might want to rethink that Occam's Razor position. ;->

I'm digging Heroes too. I hate the way it makes me want the next episode immediately. I just hope it doesn't suffer from lack-of-payoff like Lost, which I feel describes the state of the self-titled show. It's Lost its way. The writers are introducing too much PIS(Plot-induced-stupidity). I'm sticking with it to see if it'll get back on track.

I've really stopped watching TV, though I intend to give BG a thorough going-over on DVD.

Between the band thing, moviescore thing, job things, practice things and book things, I simply have let my interest in anything televisual go the way of the dodo.

These days, I look at TV the way I look at most radio music, and go, "Meh..."

Then I pull a little Bulgakov down from the shelf, put on a little Bartok, or some old-school prog and get down to bizniz...
