Other people are stupid and that makes me sad

Funny, these days, you can’t even inquire about a sick coworker who is out on extended medical leave because of privacy concerns, yet It’s okay to let random strangers at the TSA rifle through your belongings ( Read more... )

Are y'all having any "but it's not monsoon season!" thoughts? I heard just now on CNN that Yavapai county received, like, 6 inches of rain so quickly that there is massive flooding and a boy got swept away in the fast-moving waters.

You and Barb be safe in the weather! (I remember Tempe in August, where every single road would flood some and underpasses would become lakes... yikes.)

This is real winter weather. It's been a decade since I last saw a properly wet January (in 1990, before they built the "Tempe Town Lake," the Salt River ran for two months, there was so much rain). Unfortunately, so many people have moved to the Valley SINCE 1990, none of them realize just how destructive Arizona rainstorms of any stripe can be!

Ahh rain. You must be getting what was our snow. Freezing is what it is around here.

You two stay dry!

I think so. It's nice, though. Been a LONG time since we had real rain like this!

I hate to bother you, but I was just thinking of rahirah. I know it's been about a week know since Sam past away. Is she and you doing okay ? I was just worried, because I knew how out of sink I felt after my first siamese died. And I was quite surprised to see him pass so quickly, he seemed to have luck on his side, but I hope he went peacefully and without pain.

Well, Barb had to make the hard choice to have Sam put to sleep, because the granuloma on his face had gotten so large it was starting to interfere with his eating and it irritated him so much he'd make it bleed all the time trying to scratch it off. We talked about it and she talked it over with the Vet, and since it was only ever going to continue getting worse and nothing could be done to make him comfortable, we decided. I know it was hard on her, and she's been down this week, but we know it was the right choice and the poor boy's not suffering any more.

Okay, thanks. I was just worried about her. I just want to let her know that my mother was sorry to hear that Sam passed away too. And she said she wouldn't be surprised if the next year or so y'all end up with a dog just showing up out of nowhere, and it that it will be Sam who sent him or her to y'all. Because that is what happened to us, Lilith showed up out of nowhere after our last female cat died. And in the last ten years no other cat has showed up ( ... )

Yes, most of our pets have been of the "showed up and stayed" -- only the Once and Future Cat, Silhouette, was actually chosen and paid for at the Humane Society.

Sam was quite the character, that's for sure! And he was a very handsome dog in his youth. So resilient -- I can't imagine any other creature with a blood sugar spiking over 500 bouncing around like a puppy!

It's Arizona--Do You Know Where Your Umbrella Is? sillymagpie January 23 2010, 08:37:18 UTC
Your coworker's comments make my head hurt. Trusting soul, isn't she?

You need a Sheldon icon, obviously!

I KNOW! (Said in disbelieving Craig fashion)

The second Sheldon said those words I told Barb I needed the icon, but she hasn't made it for it me yet (I don't have Photoshop on Jonathan yet).
