Ahahahaha, I got so wrapped up in the story I totally forgot that the Black Sun invasion flopped.

You do the voices spot on (I can hear Iroh speaking those lines), and it's just ending so well, not perfectly for Our Heroes, but very well in all respects. There's this sense of so much more story out there, too... *_*

And aww... Jet knows what to do, kind of. "That summer, Jet had taught him a great many tangible things: how to fight Firebenders with swords, how to train a young army, how to season rice porridge, how to kiss and where to put his hands when he did." A nice little aside. :) I also like how you summarize Jet's progression - "He had never asked to know the things Zuko had told him, or to understand how the world looked through the golden eyes of Firebenders." Oh. My. God, Al. Look what you have done here. LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE DONE! Jet is so ridiculously hot and also vulnerable it's like...I'm sure in my many babblings about previous chapters I talked about how Zuko is just, because of who he is, so transparent and always vulnerable! It's harder to read Jet sometimes because his defenses actually work. But in this chapter it's like he's gotten to the end of them ( ... )
