He wasn’t trigger-happy, he was just protective. Protective of everything he considered needed protection. And that included a certain irate medic, whether he wanted to be protected or not.
“I can fight you know.” Ratchet ground out, peering at the enemy from behind Ironhide’s large black frame.
“I know that, but you need to be fixing him, not fighting.”
“I know what I need to be doing you trigger happy maniac!” Ratchet growled, turning his attention back to his patient and completely missing the small smile that crossed Ironhide’s face. The Decepticons that got anywhere near their position didn’t stand a chance. Ironhide was going to protect what he cared about most. Even if the medic didn’t know it.
And if that made him a little trigger happy, then so be it, he was trigger happy.
He still called it being protective.
