Rereading "Pope Fiction" by Patrick Madrid. I like this book; bought it on a whim 2-3 years ago. He has a great style and while he shoots down falsities about beliefs about the papacy, he never comes across as condescending, rude, arrogant, or bombastic. If that "Why Do Catholics Do That" book is what I think it is, I don't much like it. I remember finding it once, and loving it. Then, a couple years later, I flipped through it again and couldn't believe some of the junk there was in it.

However, even this was years and years ago, and maybe the next time I see it, I'll like it again.

I thought it was neat if a bit folksy in style but I had lent it to a friend of mine who was Mormon to answer some of her questions, and leafing back through it for RCIA I liked the section on Tradition. It's not scholarly but I still thought it a good surface look. But again, I haven't stacked it up against much, and I have been mostly skipping around through it.
