I have a job!
pay is slightly less than i'd hoped, but i can live with that. Start is 7 jan, and its in dublin in cycling distance, so that is good. Its providing tech solutions to banks ;-)
its in city center, so i may look there for a different place, thought his is quite doable. I'm just not impressed by the mice -

update - out of a job again
hp and cpl did it again. fuckers.
after offering me a permanent contract verbally (not legally binding in ireland) they now rescinded and cancelled my temporary contract 11 days early though they're paying out 5 working days of that.
And they only told me that today at 10. Lovely.
And that makes me unhappy.
