Finals and death threats, yay

My brain is broken from studying so much. Also I got this email from campus security:
Restroom graffiti, written in small ink letters, was found Friday in a stall in a
men`s bathroom in the Haggard Hall wing of Western Libraries that read: "what

Yeah I'm kind of hoping that someone just wanted to get out of their final, but nevertheless I don't want to be on campus that day.

why would they send everyone an email if they weren't worried about it? if they're worried about it, they can't expect everyone else not to be and they should postpone exams.

I think it's probably nothing, or possibly someone trying to get an extension on their exam. I can see why you're nervous though.

Every school for the past several decades at least has had "bomb threats" etc. during exams each year, just to disrupt the exam process. The difference is that now some psychos do act out their rage - so there is a certain amount of legitimate fear, rather than just "duh, another dork pulls a fire alarm" kind of thing.

What I don't understand is what your security department is trying to say. They've covered their asses by warning everyone. But they're not doing anything about it? Given the "official" warning, wouldn't you have the right to not show up?

Have you spoken to your prof about how this affects you (and likely, most of your classmates too...)?

I'm going to email him asking about the final. We'll see what he says, I think he should be understanding of me not wanting to be on campus that day.
