Ollantaytambo and Pisaq
We took the cheapest possible train option to Machu Picchu, which meant that we had to haul ourselves to a town called Ollantaytambo some other way. On our way there we took a bus that just met our night train but on the way back we decided to stay a day in Ollanta. Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu was awesome. I took about fifty versions of the basic overhead-with-sacred-mountain-in-the-background view you see on every postcard because every time I rounded a corner and saw it again I thought, "Holy shit, that's impressive." Cusco
I´m not sure what I think of Cusco overall. On one hand there's lots of neat stuff there. It´s a manageable, walkable size (at least for the interesting parts).On the other hand, it´s so touristy that you are constantly pressured by little boys who want to shine your shoes or sell you post cards.
