I don't know if this will help, but astrologically it's a dark time for everyone. But tomorrow is the winter solstice and after that the days will get longer, there will be more light. Light a candle, go find a bonfire somewhere, or just get outside and let the solistice energy turn December on its head. You're doing great even if you can't see it right now. As Naugess says, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, so focus on that lovely (warm) resurrected ghost town in Texas, and remember the hoidays will be short in the bigger picture. You can get through it. I hope you can find lots of things to keep you busy and away from your mother.
