The Title is a Sci-Fi Story in Itself

While browsing WH Smith online, they tried to sell me 'The Time Machine' by H G Wells and William Gibson.  WTF?  I went and looked at the book, and it just seems to be a Penguin Classics edition, with similar blurb to the copy I have sitting on the shelf next to me.   Where does William Gibson fit in?  Did he travel back in time to co-author it or ( Read more... )

just a random guess, 'cos I can't be arsed to check it, but I suspect he wrote an introduction to that edition. I prefer the thought of him travelling back in time to collaborate with Wells though -- Wintermute meets the Martians!

That's what I'd assume but the cover didn't say anything, and you'd think William Gibson would be someone you'd name-drop. There was also a third author - Marina Someoneorother, but I don't remember the exact name as it wasn't anyone I recognised.
I think the time travel hypothesis is more interesting, especially given the book.
