Why Aslan is a c***

NaNoWriMo = >4000 words!
So here's the back-story behind my novel.
fatkraken and I both grew up with the Narnia books as a standard fixture in our respective homes.  And the Narnia books are all over-saturated and cheery and neat and tidy (except for the Last Battle where CS Lewis goes a bit apocalyptic and dark, but I loved it nonetheless until he lost the ( Read more... )

I think I remember that issue being explained by them not having very clear memories of it, and it all seeming like a dream. But tbf, it's been many years since I reread them

But ignoring that, it sounds like an excellent idea.

They day-dream about going back there, and Susan has grown up and remembers is as some silly game they used to play by the end of the series, but they do treat it as real. I don't remember anything about it seeming like a dream, though I can't swear it's not there either.
The situation is better than it might be because no one goes to Narnia on their own so they have someone else to talk to, and I suppose you can talk about children being more adaptable, and there's the whole 'faith that Aslan will take them back / there's a logic behind everything' thing.

I think you over-estimate my ability to write readably! Have 'The Adventures of Sir Arthur Hawksmoor of Exeter, Paladin of Consangua' not warned you of this? :p

Since I haven't read them...no.

Where might I find them?

Usually scattered in badly-printed pamphlets across the faction. After all, it's no good trolling an ancestor if no one wants to pay to buy the book!
It was so good someone tried to kill me.

Excellent stuff! Since you're using Narnia, you can have talking space weasels!

I'm using the concept, but my own setting.
Which I haven't really fleshed out, so there *might* be talking space weasels.
Anyway, talking space weasels in Narnia would be silly - none of the stories CS Lewis set in space cross over with Narnia :p

Sounds like an awesome premise! Good luck! I'll be cheering for you... As it's Nov 3 and I've not even started and have 100000 things to crochet for Christmas (it feels) I've wimped out. But you can do it! Go go go!

Never mind, real life comes first.
I suspect I won't have any real life for the next month.
I tell you, I'm really going to appreciate those times I end up sitting around bored with nothing to do :)
