Yeah, it was worth it

Remember these?  Wore them tonight without socks because it was nice out and I wanted to think of them more like sandals.  Bad idea.  Now I have blisters on the sides of my pinkie toes.  Yes, both.  Owie.

clavally asked me to continue posting about the gym and working out.  She said that hearing about it from me and antennapedia helps motivate her.  Gotta say that antennapedia  ( Read more... )

You Rock!!! I hope I'm as motivated in my workouts once my lil' lady arrives. At this point I can barely manage 30 straight minutes on my Elliptical on an easy resistance.

30 minutes on an elliptical is great! Especially now that you are exercising for two!! :)

Leg raises are hell! Good on you there.

Today I did... what did I do? Yesterday I did Crossfit Annie, which is sets of double-under jump rope followed by situps, 50 - 40 - 30 - 20 - 10 reps in each set. By that last set, ten situps feel like they take forever. Double-under jump rope is where you jump high and swing the rope fast so it passes under your feet twice. I can't really do that consistently, so I doubled the jumps (100 - 80 - 60 - 40 - 20 reps).

And tonight I had tons of fun: I took my first rock-climbing class at one of those indoor climbing places. Now this is why I work out!

Rock climbing!!! WOW, cool!!!!! I'd love to try that! There was a portable wall outside the gym a month or so back, for their 'grand re-opening,' operated by the local Marines office. I was tempted to try it, but they were having lunch when I got there and there was no way I wanted to be harnessed up after I was all sweaty and gross from working out. Actually, now that I think about it, there's small climbing wall inside the gym... I think I'll try assisted pull-ups first, see if I can get to pulling 3/4 of my bodyweight before trying the wall.

Jumping rope will probably hurt as bad as lumping jacks. Something about it makes my calves cramp horribly two days later. Working on figuring that out and getting past it. It's odd sometimes, the little things that trip me up.

Keep up the awesomeness!!! Oh, and when are you coming up to visit?? :)

Yay! That is some awesome stuff! Congrats over the reduced body fat. Doesn't it feel great to have tangible proof of how you're changing?

And yes, I'm having fun living vicariously through you! :p

It does feel good! Last night, I even wore snug fitting jeans with my shirt tucked in and a belt!!! I still have at least 40 more pounds to lose before I'm where I want to be, but I'm headed in the right direction finally.

Your encouragement helps!! :)
