Statutory warning : If you are not South Indian or have no experience of things South Indian, it might be pointless reading further.

Extra Statutory warning : If you are a Mallu with the pride of Kerala in your loins but no sense of humour to go with it, DON'T read any further.

You stand warned.

I was simbly loweing yowr endry in ELJ. It tickled my southern spicy fancies to no extent that you would make such an honorable mention of my state in your blOooG. I'm coming to realise the more important aspects of my culture.I will Keep the dosa, sambhar, chutney and idlis flowing from the bottom of my heart to your bottom. Sincere apologies if my english is wrong and sincere thanks for your patient observations of my words.

hello daniyal

nice journal u got here

i felt that i had to comment coz i'm a keralite myself...(dont worry...i aint gonna kill u for the joke)...and i found it really funny...i showed it to my cousin...i was expectin the worst...and she too was laughin her head off...and when u relate to reality....ppl in kerala do name thier kids jijo, lijo, liju, shiby, shiny etc etc...

the best was the pokemon joke...i never actually thought about it in that way..

about names from the bible...i know one kid called abner ..apparently its from the bible...though i never heard about it...

another thing...from past experience....jonathan in kerala is pronounced as jo-NA-than...maybe coz NA-than in mayalam means christ...hence the confusion

one thing i wanna know...wat made u post this joke here?

ps...in case u r wonderin who's this so called malu girl blabberin on ur journal....i'm JP...currently doin my first year of alevels (accounts and pure maths)..in st marys

Thanks JP, I always appreciate readers :)

Abner is combination of two Hebrew words, 'Ab' [father] and 'ner' [flame], so Abner basically means 'father of the flame'. Abner was the name of the commander of the first king of Israel, Saul's army.

Jonathan is again a combination of two Hebrew words which as a whole means 'Given of God' or 'Gift of God'.

What made me post this joke here? It was just so darned hilarious.. I was shaking with laughter when I read it for the first time, so I just thought I'd share it with people. No racist feelings, however.

If you know who I am, please wave at me or say hi or something in school :) Thanks for reading!

Waazaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! Lolz.. cool stuff man!! Loved the malu jokes.. tho i find it really mean that we ppl keep taking Malus (and Sikhs of course!) as targets for all the shitt jokes possible!! Man.. the malu accent has been overused waaaaaay too many times for comic relief and yet it cracks me up every time! (No offense to JP above.. who mite thwack me wen i see her on Saturday!!)

Hmm... well yea.. Malu ppl are cool no matter wat ppl say bout them.. and lolz..as JP asked.. why did u put the joke? For fun.. to make us laugh after a terrible day in school? :P

Well im off now... tc Danu..

Ashashashash! Every community makes jokes about themselves! And this wasn't such a degrading joke, now, was it? My friend told me that most of the facts are actually true.. and that he knows a person named 'Prussy'.
I can so do the Mallu accent. I love using it to make people giggle and smile.

Mallu people are cool? Dude, not only that, but they're only like the smartest bunch of Indians we have. All the rest are very, very dense. Keralites have the most brainpower.

As I told JP, I put this joke up here because I thought it was utterly hilarious and because I myself was trembling with laughter, I thought I should share it.

No, I think Lakshi's in Pure/Applied B. My friend Yousuf is in that class too, and he told me that the test wasn't so easy.

Hey, now, if a test is hard, I'll admit it! This test required like 0.0000482 X 10-23% of brain power. Ok, that's exaggeration, but for a class who makes as much noise as we do, it was an easy test.
