Ok, so this post started out as a comment to elementalamber's post regarding the EW poll on Watchmen vs. The New Star Trek movie. Hit her LJ up for more details on that. My response started to veer of course a bit and so I figured that I would move it into it's own entry here ( Read more... )

Someone else on my flist posted a link to the trailer and I'm posting his reaction to it, as I think you'd appreciate it...

Wow....they have gotten hold of Star Trek, mashed it up, obliterated it and then re-built it as some Hollywood-esque attempt as a homage to Star Trek.

Any passion I had for the film I think was just killed by that trailer.

I haven't because I sort of gave up trying after the third viewing. It's just too painful.

If you want to see him, for the second he's on anyway...there's a scene where they're in a flight bay with a lot of shuttles around. Well there appears to be a class going on, all the trainees are in one color and the instructor is in another. I think Paul is the instructor. He's in green. Its right after the Spock stuff, about 1:10 into it.

You may have already seen this, but here's a link anyways! :D It looks interesting, but I'm not a Who fan (yet, anyways):
