Oh wow, sorry to hear about the mess.

I think she knows that she did something wrong, but unless you catch them in the act there's really no point in punishing them for it. Plus, she almost never has accidents in the house... Since she did, it tells me that she really couldn't hold it.

Erin and I keep Hershey away from any of that kind of stuff! He usually gets the dry dog food but he does get plenty of people food too! I give him dog biscuits from time to time. Another thing I keep him away from is rawhides, he gets real mean when he's got those in his grasp. Lesson learned with those!

Yeah, I threw the rest of the wet food in the trash last night! It's just not worth it. Phoebe can make do with the dry food. :-) She doesn't get much people food; maybe a few scraps here and there.

I know what you mean about the rawhides. Or, in Phoebe's case, chicken jerky strips. It used to be if I gave her one of those and got within a couple feet of her while she was eating it, she'd growl. I fixed that by showing her that if she gave me the chicken she was chewing on, I'd reward her with an extra piece. Now her tail starts wagging if I get near her while she's chewing on one. :-P

Oh man this made me laugh so hard!

I only laugh cos I can kinda relate...back in the day when I was maybe 11 or so...we had a dog. She always ate the same ole dry food. One day at the grocery store I told mom we should get her those "tender vittles" Ok something like that anyway. It was just such a bad idea. The way the food was packaged should have been a warning. Each serving of this like...patty of soft dog food was sealed like a Little Debbie oatmeal cream pie (hope you can eat those again now haha)

ANYway we gave one to her and she almost devoured it whole...well we had more errands to run and when we got home it sounded JUST like what you came home to only it was worse...she had pooped alllll around the living room and the poor thing was STILL pooping with her head down in another corner! She was so so ashamed hahaha. It was just AWFUL!

So yeah...I can relate hahahaha.

No worries; poop is always funny unless you're the one having to clean it up. :-P And I'm not a big fan of oatmeal so don't worry about turning me off to the Little Debbie cookies forever, either! ;-)
