A ridiculously simple question: can anyone reading this inform me, or give a link to a site that will inform me, as to how one goes about injecting oneself with insulin
( Read more... )
1. lois is a diabetic who uses insulin.. (lois from the soothsayers) so ask her) 2. go back and tell the doctor or nurse that it will cost you 300 dollars to take the class, you dont have it. can he show you what too do with the insulin sincethey want you to take it? 3. try to find betsy ( i believe she is witchwestphalia)
My sister also learned how to inject her insulin by practicing with water and an orange.
Then my ex-brother-in-law got hold of the orange and the needle, and injected so much water into the orange that it exploded [g].
But seriously, the doctor is the one who should be showing you how to do this. My sister (who was diagnosed almost 40 years ago) wound up in the hospital before they figured out she was diabetic, so learned how to inject herself while she was still there.
I will echo the advice of your doctor or his nurse/PA/CNP should teach you, on you. I had a real hard time with getting over the needle phobia I have.
I was told, at least during pregnancy, to inject in the thigh, subcutaneously. You will find there are some places on your body where you can't feel the needle going in, unlike fingersticks.
