Rosie had emailed her itinerary to Kayashima the day before after she had changed her booking. The trip would be slightly more expensive this way but Jonna had been understanding. As eager as he was to see her, Rosie was glad he understood she needed to be there for her friends too ( Read more... )

"I go for work every once in a while." The little yosei was crying from laughter, she was having so much fun. Nothing really harmful happened, just inconveniences for those unfortunate enough to be passing by the pixie-like tyrant. People were stumbling, bottoms of bags would give out, small things broke...It was quite the scene outside the window but Taiki ignored it so long as no one was hurt.

"Really. I may have to put you to the natto challenge." A small, devious smile. "But you are right; there is something comforting about foods particular to your home."

Rosie looked around. Are they cherry trees?

Wiiiide eyes. "21. It must be a very large stage."

"Plum, mostly." Taiki looked up at the trees around them. "They bloom in March."

OOC: eee...okay, mun has to sleep and then will be gone for a couple of days while she travels back home.

Ain't ya ever been ta a concert? Rosie was so used to it that she didn't understand.

I like plums. Rosie grinned. Maybe can come back in March ta see it.

OOC: Sleep well. I'll talk to you when you're home again. :)

"No." Going to a concert would require him to listen to some music, first.

"You are welcome to come back any time. The cherry and plum blossom festivals are nice. You would be able to see a more traditional side of Japan." Taiki rubbed the back of his neck under his scarf.

Taiki didn't say anything to that...He didn't want to be rude, but he was also pretty sure that wouldn't be a good idea. Plus, he was finding it harder and harder to say no or lie to Rosie.

"It does. It is a good time of year for Japan...It is the end of winter and there are many festivals."

I would like to see it. Rosie was certain she would like to see the festivals.

"I believe you would enjoy it. We would need to get you a yukata." He smiled at that. "There would be a lot to do...Stands selling food, games, street entertainers, fireworks...There is a very big festival in two days at Shuichi's hometown. He was disappointed because this will be the first year he has missed it." Taiki readjusted the strap across his shoulders. As they talked, they walked through the grounds and found themselves back out onto the street. Now they just needed to decide what they wanted to do for the evening...The sun would be setting in about an hour.

What's a yukata? Rosie nodded. Sounds like lotta fun. Gotta go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras once. Gotta be least that fun.

Rosie followed along trying to decide what else to do.

"It is...ahm...it is a cotton robe with a sash." He was gesturing folding the yukata around him and tying the obi around his waist. Taiki scratched the back of his head, trying to figure out how to describe the cotton kimono without using other Japanese words. Why in the world was no one at the shrine wearing one? "It is traditionally worn at many of the festivals, especially during the fireworks." And he laughed a bit at the Mardi Gras comment. "No traditional Japanese festival would be as wild as that. But it is fun...More of a family event."

Taiki to the left and the right, trying to judge which way to go...He finally looked up at Rosie, "What would you like to do now?"

Rosie nodded because she thought she understood what he was talking about. I like goin' to cultural festivals. Went to the kite festival in Tyne and Wear last year.

She giggled. Thinkin' it's your turn ta pick what we do.

"Kite festivals are good." He smiled, but was also pretty sure that only in Japan was the kite festival about fighting with them.

Taiki wrinkled his nose when she said that. "It will be dark soon, we should probably decide if we would like to stay here for the night or go back home. I believe it should be up to you since you are the one that has to travel tomorrow..."

Flight ain't 'til evening. Don't matter to me where we stay. Rosie shrugged. Travel was not something that she worried about much.

Foiled.
"Back to the house, then...If you do not mind." The thought of his own bed and things was much more appealing than using his classmates if there was no preference. "Is there anything you need or want to do on the way?"
