I was going to flat-out agree with you until I got evil and thought of an exception. Maybe a word in the summary could be describing a summery day. But that would be the ONLY exception.

When it's followed by a colon and then a description of the story, I can't bring myself to assume the best ;)

Oh, totally! Also not a fan of disclaimers that run along the lines of "I've never watched/read/seen/heard this show/movie/story, but ..."

What kind of research have you done, and what, pray tell, is motivating you to write this fanfic?

Oh, and the one I hate, come to think of it, is the fanfic summary where the writer says she (usually) can't write a summary so just read the story anyway.

Call me skeptical, but if a person can't string a few words together, how can I trust that person to make a whole story that I'd actually want to read? I'm just not willing to take that chance.
