I believe the first Two serial I saw was "The Mind Robber" and me and my college roommate just blown-away by Jamie and the Doctor's *ehem* closeness. Those two are pure joy to watch. They always make me smile, and so of course did this post! thank you!
Yay! You're welcome! And The Mind Robber was my first Second Doctor serial as well. After that, I couldn't STOP watching him. Two/Jamie is really what sold me on the brilliance of Old Skool Who. You could say I was lured in by the slash. Works every time. ;-)
Sweet! I think one could ship Jamie with any incarnation of the Doctor and it would work brilliantly. That kind of love lasts at LEAST ten lifetimes. ;-) I look forward to seeing your 10/Jamie post.
Thank you thank you thank you!! Those two are my favorite pairing in pretty much the entire canon (and yes, this is coming from someone who started with Christopher Eccleston). Thanks for the mucho linkage!
I started with Eccleston too! Then I read somewhere about how the Second Doctor and Jamie acted all slashy together and I knew I had to check that out. I tracked down a copy of The Mind Robber and...well...the rest is history. Old Skool obsession history. ;-)

OMG I LOVE YOU SO BAD FOR MAKING THIS.
Um. Yes. Quite.
Possibly there isn't enough Two/Jamie fic because of people like me who ship them like heck, but agonize over getting Jamie's Scottish right? (I am really going to get over that soon.)

Why do you love to torture me so? It's cruel, woman. Just plain cruel.
Oh, these two look kind of neat. I might have to check them out. But surely they couldn't really be as shippy as you are suggesting they were. It was the 60s, after all! I am sure they really just look at each other, and occasionaly manfully touch, right?
Really true facts about the 1960sdaphnerunningMay 14 2008, 11:28:50 UTC
Well, actually the clinging is real, but what they don't tell you is that the clinging was totally normal back then. You'd see it all over the place, men clinging to each other in fear or anticipation for the slightest reason--their grocery store cashier was going slowly, it had been a hard day at work, there was a game on that evening, someone had hit a deer with his car, there was only one door and the two of them HAD to go through it at the same time...everywhere you looked, there were men clinging desperately to each other, hands fisted in each other's shirts, a tone of urgency in their voices.
Never fear, these two are just a couple of heterosexual males who are conforming to the social mores of their time. I don't know why people have to ruin perfectly manly cuddling, loving touches, and innuendo by making it "homosexual." Honestly, kids these days.
