Chances are you'll probably be hard-pressed to find someone to take you up on this. A lace scarf of that length will easily take 12 - 15 hours for even an experienced knitter. Depending on the yarn you like, let's say an $8/100g sk yarn, worsted weight - not fancy, not cheap, just average wool. It'll probably take about 3 of those, so that's $24. Then, if you found a knitter who was willing to work for $10/hr (which is about half what skilled trade pay is), you're looking at just shy of $200 and that's not even considering the cost of someone essentially writing the pattern from a picture.

Your best bet would be to buckle down, focus on lace knitting and knit it for yourself. You'll enjoy it and you'll learn things, too! If you're not on Ravelry already, you should think about joining. There are loads of forums there that are dedicated to Whovian knits and plenty of people who'd help you along as you work on your scarf. HTH!

I just found this entry and was wondering if you've managed to make your own scarf yet or are still looking for someone to knit it for you. If you are still looking, I'll be more than happy to knit it for you since I'm knitting one for myself, so it won't be that much trouble. Let me know and I hope to hear from you soon! :D

Hey! Sorry for the delay in replying kinda fell off the radar for a couple of days there! Ooooooh no I haven't found anyone! ( Well a lovely girl offered to do it for me but I haven't heard anything since n I don't want to pester her!) How much would you charge? :)

lol That's ok, no big deal. I charge $.10 per yard plus the cost of yarn in US dollars (Since I'm from the US.) I don't charge by the hour or anything. So for Amy's scarf it would be, at the MOST, US$78.00. That's with three skeins (210yards per skein) of the yarn that I like the best. It's cozy and really soft and not ubber expensive. If you want, I can use less expensive yarn which would cut the cost, but doing that would also cut the quality down. But in the long run, it's all up to you, my dear, and how long you would want it. :)

Sorry its taken so long to get back to you! I will need to see how much I get paid to see if I can afford it :) Its really just for costuming to be honest so I'm not too bothered about the quality :) I really appreciate the offer and I'll get in touch soon! :)

Probably way late here, but if you do a search for "Doctor Who" on Ravelry, there are three or four variations on Amy scarves! I just finished the "Pandorica Opens" one and am looking forward to trying the "Time Travel Scarf" next.
