The man, the myth, the legend Gareth Roberts has announced that he is no longer going to be writing his much-anticipated (by me, anyway) novelisation of the equally legendary (and hitherto not adapted) Doctor Who story City of Death. Sorry, but this is completely nuts. James Goss has written some of the best Who fiction of the last ten years - see my various comments. I agree that Roberts is jolly good at Four/Romana, but I think Goss may turn it into something quite amazing!

I will no doubt end up reading it anyway when it comes out, and then I may well eat my words. I'll be sure to do so here if that's the case, assuming there's still such a thing as Livejournal. Until then... ;)

Mmmm...I'll have to reserve judgement until I read. Then again, some of the books that have been praised I'm all '?!?!?' and other books that are disliked I find moderately okay - but that's covering all the DW books, really. Well, the ones I've gotten a chance to read, lol!
