Well, I admit to chuckling, in a sort of "Is he really freaking serious about this?" sort of way while reading this... opinion. But I'm afraid I'm a little inclined to defend my fandom (though I shouldn't have to; those who care don't matter and those who matter don't care) and I jumped on it a little bit.

Don't get me wrong; I don't mind well-written snark even about things I do like. I have read some absolutely brilliant lampooning of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings or even just merciless, wickedly humorous picking apart of fandoms. But this is just whingeing, pompous and pedantic whingeing at that and thus... I'm not exactly amused.

Some reviewers/critics are amazingly, hilariously snarky while still being somewhat objective. This guy probably tried to be like that but it just flops.
