John woke up a little earlier than expected for no good reason except he was just up. So, not wanting to wake Aeryn, he got out of bed, went over to sprawl on the couch and turned on the television, low volume.

Aeryn's a really light sleeper, though, which is why she's blinking her eyes open and turning to look at what's going on.

Being sprawled on the sofa means he can't really see that so he just stays quiet and watches cartoon.
