Bachelorette Table of Contents / Originally posted at Neighborhood 99 on 7 July 2012
Yesterday, we met the Bachelorette, Melissa Fancey, and her seven hopeful suitors. Dilip secured an early lead by winning Melissa's friendship, but Daisuke is also showing his potential - which earned him a censorship blur.
Vincent and Andrew hang out all night. It's early morning before they go to bed.
Which is poor timing, on their part, since Melissa is up before dawn.
She's not the only one. The early bird catches the worm - er, Bachelorette! Mayhew seizes the chance to have a private meal with Melissa.

They chat about cooking until Melissa starts to play a video game. No one wants to join her except the Hobby Sim, though.

That's because the boys are too busy stomping on cockroaches to keep her company.
(Fury triggered the infestation by kicking over the trash can, yesterday. I'll remember that little incident when I play his lot.)

Mayhew is squeamish of bugs and he soon spirals into aspiration failure. Fortunately, the studio retains a qualified psychiatrist among its production staff.
Melissa is left alone while the cockroaches take their toll on her suitors.
Now it's Bernard's turn. His aspiration failure is so severe, his eyeballs roll back into his head.
(That pose is kinda cute, apart from the ghoulish eyes.)

Clay also collapses, and as soon as he recovers from his first failure, Mayhew fails again.
Melissa is forced to make her own fun while they sort themselves out.
Talk to Melissa, not the flour-sack baby!
Talk to Melissa, not Professor von Ball!
(Now, Daisuke, that's not nice. Unfortunately, there's not much tolerance for mental health issues, in Japan.)
I'll get you for this, Fury.
Once the infestation is under control, Bernard scores some face-time with Melissa when she tells him a joke.
Meanwhile, Daisuke's exhibitionism claims another victim.

Time flies when your lot is going bubonic. Before I know it, the clock strikes noon - time for the first elimination from the show!
Let's see what Melissa thinks of her suitors:
Dilip: 100 + 11= 111
Vincent: 050 + 13 = 63
Daisuke: 024 + 09 = 33
Clay: 015 + 15 = 30
Mayhew: 015 + 11 = 26
Bernard: 012 + 08 = 20
Andrew: 009 + 09 = 18
That last-minute joke keeps Bernard in the contest! He'll have to work hard, though, if he hopes to catch up to Dilip and Vincent.
The low man on the totem pole, today, is Andrew. He wakes up just in time to be escorted off the set.
(The producers let him put on his clothes, first.)
In the afternoon, the Bachelorette invites her suitors to join her for a group-date in the hot tubs.
I direct each guy to join Mel in her tub, but there'll only be room for three of them.
As usual, Dilip takes the lead and gets in first.
Bernard arrives next because he's gotta bring up his score. Daisuke doesn't waste any time putting on his swimtrunks, so he's able to grab the last seat.
After tubbing, they sit down to dinner. I was glad to see them all having a good time, together.
Or rather, I was glad until they spread their flu germs to Melissa.
Dilip spends a bit too much time at the table, socializing. That's quite a belly you've got there, buddy.
In the evening, Melissa chats with each of her suitors.
Everybody chat!

I was hoping that Vincent would start dancing, and he didn't disappoint me. If you've ever wondered what punk-flamenco looks like, now you know: it's pelvic and it's mean.
