Today I am grumpy because I'm not sure what to do on my documentary. The opening isn't quite what I want it to be, but I'm not sure what it needs. Vocal narration? Text narration? Cooler transitions? So I'm just poking at it, playing with different things... for the last two hours... and I still have no idea ( Read more... )

I've always planned to move to the Arizona desert. Find some place in the badlands where the nearest grocery store is a bumpy half-hour away. YMMV.

Unfortunately, that's way too close to where I am now. ;)

Although I do recommend the Arivaca Valley in southern Arizona. Great kitchy coffee shop, convenience store with super nice old farts who help fix your car with baking soda, and about 15 miles of nothing in between them.

Sounds about right!

Out of curiosity- what did they use baking soda for?

My favorite car fix was a friend of mine whose mechanic got a car to pass smog by stuffing an old rag into the muffler.

To clean corrosion off the battery. It got us as far as the auto shop two hours away, anyway.

I'd totally move to Tanzania (especially Zanzibar) with you if we could bring our significant others along. However, I also want to tell you that you don't have to do that. That it'll be fine. You'll finish and you'll graduate and then you'll have all of this energy that you were spending on school that you'll reapply elsewhere.

Plus, you'll have a wedding to plan. ;)

Hee!

Let's just make a date to watch "Road to Zanzibar" sometime. With fudge.

I agree. *Grins* I've seen one of the Road movies and I completely forget which one...but I'm fairly certain that one isn't it.

I saw part of one on a hotel TV once. It was hilarious in the way those old movies are. The kind of thing where you watch it mostly as an excuse to not pay attention to it and have a conversation instead. ;)
