When you have a general idea of what you want to do with the music for your documentary I would be happy to help out. I'm majoring in music composition and have some experience writing music for film. I can write pretty well though not terribly fast (3 minutes of music a day is realistic though I imagine I could work faster than that now) in just about any style from classical, new age, "film music", and electronica to rock, blues, and jazz. Reguardless of whether I end up writing any of the music for it I'd enjoy seeing it when you are finished and I hope the rest of the editing process goes well for you.

Wow, that would be amazing! The only thing is that right now I'm on a really tight schedule, where I don't even have a rough cut done and the finished film is due in basically two weeks. It'll be 30-45 minutes long. So... that would be a lot of music to do in a very short time, but if you were interested I'd love to have your help! Or maybe if you wanted to just do a few minutes of music or something... or maybe I'll put in some samples from GarageBand for the version I turn in, and then do a real finished version a few weeks later with music from you? Either way, how about I get you a rough cut whenever I have it (hopefully within the next week) and you let me know whether it seems like something you want to do? :) That would be so exciting if you did music for it... man. :)

Any of those ideas would work. :) As its a documentary I'm going to bet that there'll be a lot of talking which would lessen the music requirement to some degree. After I've gotten a rough cut I'll see what I can do and how fast I can do it. If you have and sections that are going to be put into the rough cut more or less as they are now (we film composers have to get used to working music around the seconds or even frame changes happen in the editing process) I could get a head start. Any style in particular or desires for the music? This is going to be awesome!
